North Carolina’s Jeffrey Nero Hardy was born August 31, 1977.

Gilbert and Ruby Moore Hardy reared Jeff in Cameron, North Carolina. He lost his mother to brain cancer in 1987. Jeff was nine when his mother died, and he and his older brother struggled.
